Funnily enough a company we know very little about delivered one of the biggest surprises of our comparison. The fact that there are other seemingly identical models on the market hints us that this is a rebranded device without an actual big manufacturer behind them but then again, Airfox Gaming Hub is really cheap when you compare it to some of the bigger players on the field.
Like Roccat Apuri this is a USB hub with mouse cable holder rather than just a plain mouse bungee. What gives Airfox an edge over the Apuri is the fact that the USB ports on this hub are 3.0, meaning that you can transfer a full HD movie in just seconds (5 Gbps transfer speed). It is almost as heavy as the Apuri but it does not feel as well built overall. The circulating LED lighting is a nice touch in case you like additional lights on your gadgets but it would have been nice to be able to manually set the colors – now they just circulate through the predetermined cycle.
As we mentioned earlier, the Airfox surprised us all. Even if it isn’t the most trusted device on the list it works great. We can’t yet say much about for how long this joy will last, but judging by other people that have used it for longer than we have it seems like it does age reasonably well. Keep in mind though – you get what you pay for usually stands true when it comes to electrical devices.
